And in the name of
NATIONAL PRIDE AND PATRIOTISM
They copied the noble charters
Of other nations
And assured the citizens
Theirs was the world's freest regime.
Any who wanted could leave
But few could resist the money-drug
That tripped the good-life dream.
They beamed their success
Over the world with pride.
And other nations said
We shall be free!
They copied the Americans
Built cities and factories
Airports and freeways.
And like them became restless
And dissatisfied.
